Does reverse osmosis waste water?

Does it strip the minerals out?

It does, because a membrane that fine does not sort useful minerals from unwanted ones. Drinking water is a small part of mineral intake next to food, so for most households this is a taste question. If you dislike flat-tasting water, look at the systems that add minerals back after the membrane.

Are the tanks plastic?
