Common questions
Why does my hair feel strange for the first week?
Because you removed the silicones that liquid shampoos use to make hair feel slick immediately. Once those wash out, hair behaves differently — usually better within two or three weeks. Judging a bar on day two is judging the transition, not the bar.
What if I have hard water?
Hard water and soap-based bars can leave a film. Rinse with a very dilute apple cider vinegar solution once a week and it clears. If your water is very hard, look specifically for a syndet-style bar rather than a soap-based one.
How do I store it?
Out of the direct spray, on a draining dish. A bar left in a puddle dissolves several times faster, and that is the single biggest cause of people concluding bars are not economical.
