What gets a product rejected

Common questions

What does the TDS number actually tell me?

Total dissolved solids is a bulk measure of everything dissolved in the water — minerals included. A big drop between inlet and outlet shows the membrane is working, but it is not contaminant-specific: it cannot tell you whether PFAS in particular were removed. Treat it as a health check on the membrane, not a safety test.

Does tankless mean it is instant?

It means water is filtered as it flows rather than stored, so you are not limited by tank size — but flow is slower than a normal faucet, since every drop is going through the membrane as you draw it. Filling a large pot takes noticeably longer than the tap.

Does it need power?

Yes — tankless systems use a pump to drive water through the membrane, so it needs an outlet under the sink. In a power cut you have no filtered water, which a gravity pitcher would still give you.
